"Still Functioning"

the irony.

My latest choreographic work, "Still Functioning," was set to premiere at Howard University during the Dance Major Program's spring concert April 17th and 18th - but, well, you know.

The beauty of the work follows several women as they navigate the violent waves of life - from death, disappointment and anxiety - by casting the sails of sisterhood and safe spaces. I have entered all spaces on behalf of Sacramento, California, and will forever be grateful for the safe spaces that the functions and friendships have provided to me over the years.

Cheers to the beautiful dancers at Howard University and to an excellent staging of "Still Functioning." I look forward to the eventual premiere of the work, but until then, I encourage everyone to keep feeling themselves.
